Education has been hit particularly hard by the COVID-19 pandemic with a large population of learners out of school and country-wide school closures, since early March 2020. While other critical needs such as health, water and sanitation are being responded to, educational needs cannot be forgotten or compromised, as this will have an equally detrimental impact if left unaddressed. 

In response to significant demand and with the aim of supporting the education sector and their goals towards uplifting and educating the next generation of undergraduates, H One stepped up to provide the forefront industry with a comprehensive virtual learning solution, namely Microsoft Teams, whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on a digital platform. 

H One currently enables secure distance learning for OKI International School, Alethea International School, Nalanda College, Muslim Ladies College and St Anthony’s College, catering to over 7,550 students and 215 teachers, thereby reinforcing these schools with the ability to commence their operations online. 

H One worked in close collaboration with the respective faculty members of these schools to meet their specific requirements, whilst facilitating secure restrictive policies to protect its users from cyber threats. Microsoft Teams and Class Notebook provided the faculty with the ability to share files and plan assignments in real-time, this value addition has empowered students to build the skills they need for success, with tools and apps that improve creativity, communication and collaboration. H One additionally trained IT administrators, teachers and groups of students, on the semantics and best practices of the collaboration system, thus effectively supporting the schools with an end to end solution, inclusive of full-time support via a dedicated hotline and chat forums.
